On site in the Bournville Conservation Area…

Works are underway on a two storey side and rear extension on this period end terraced property in the Bournville Conservation Area. This will create a substantially extended period property, giving the existing property some much needed TLC, and giving the owners considerably enlarged living accommodation. At first floor we are adding a third bedroom and a family bathroom, whilst on the ground floor there is a new entrance vestibule, a snug to the side, and a superb kitchen, living, dining space to the rear extending to the full width of the plot. The original outhouses are being re-organised to form a separate wc and utility. At the front a timber framed porch and period detailing will ensure the new extension blends seamlessly in to the existing street and neighbourhood.

We managed both the Bournville Village Trust (BVT) and Conservation Area planning applications for the proposals. After meeting some resistance we took the application to appeal on behalf of the applicants and received full planning approval at appeal. Not every project is straightforward but we are on hand to provide our expertise and knowledge at every step of the way. We have a lot of experience and a large number of completed projects in Conservation Areas throughout the West Midlands and the wider area. We enjoy the challenge of respecting period properties and their context whilst updating to create modern living spaces.
