On site in Edgbaston. This large open plan kitchen extension is flying up. After just 5 weeks the main spaces are already taking shape giving a sense of the dramatic daylighting and gorgeous views of the mature gardens.
The owners approached the General Architecture Company after a recommendation from a previous client on the other side of Harborne. Although this large family home had some fabulously sized reception rooms the kitchen to the rear was small, dark and not in keeping with the rest of the house. We swept away the existing kitchen, the outbuildings to the rear, and enclosed a cut off side courtyard to create a large space for cooking and socialising, connecting the new space to the garden and sunlight. New ancillary spaces including a secondary spice kitchen, shower room and pantry room were then housed in the re-built rear wing.
